“After many hours of personal research, I decided to schedule a consultation with Dr. Nakhjo for a Ventral Hernia surgery repair. “Hello Everyone! I do not typically do reviews however, I just wanted to say that Dr. Nakhjo and his staff are awesome. In May of 2024, Dr. Nakhjo performed surgery on my inguinal hernia by the Shouldice (Mesh Free) method. It was important for me that I did not have a mesh hernia repair as I did not want anything foreign in my body. Dr. Nakhjo assured me that the Shouldice method was just as safe and durable as the any other standard methods of repair. He patiently answered all my questions and concerns. Dr. Nakhjo assured me that he specialized in this type of surgery (performing approximately 300 inguinal cases a year) unlike other general surgeons. The staff at the Newton Medical Center was accommodating, nice and made me feel comfortable as I as nervous for the big day. After surgery, Dr. Nakhjo was very adamant that I do not exercise at all besides a casual walk for six weeks. After surgery, I felt discomfort and had difficulty with moving around for approximately one week. However, from the day after the surgery up until today, my body felt noticeably better each day and I became more mobile. Now that I am a few months out of surgery, I am back to jiu-jitsu, running and weightlifting without any concerns regarding my hernia.
